Ronin #1, named after the leader of the Samurai, Oishi Yoshio, was built on an EBR 1190RX motorcycle and was used to race the 93rd Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in June of 2015. The motorcycle, piloted by Denver, Colorado based racer Travis Newbold, achieved a 2nd place finish in the top Heavyweight division behind the professional factory Honda sponsored team. Having the second fastest motorcycle of the race was a huge accomplishment to both Mr. Newbold and the team at Ronin Motor Works, who designed, engineered, and assembled the bike in only 5 months. The bike is considerably different than the fleet of Buell 1125-based motorcycles comprising the other 46 Ronin, requiring re-engineering of the front girder suspension, brakes, air intake and exhaust, and electronics. The one-off front end of this motorcycle was entirely CNC machined from billet aluminum, opposed to sand-cast components on the other bikes. Also included were high-performance Brembo brakes, specially-designed carbon fiber wheels, and custom controls.

Number 1 is the final Ronin and is named after Oishi Yoshio. This leader of the 47 avengers of Asano was of a gentle and meek disposition with great tact and valor. The successful issue of the night attack on Kira may be said to be due almost entirely to his marvelous forethought and integrity. At his death he was 46 years old.  - Forty Seven Ronin 1893
